Partners involved in the project

The ERPI (Research Team on Innovative Processes) is one of the laboratories at the University of Lorraine, accredited as a Research Team (EA No. 3767) by the Ministry of Higher Education and Research. ERPI is a member of FR 2863: Jacques Villermaux Research Federation for Mechanics, Energy, Processes (FR JV) and is affiliated with the scientific field EMPP - Energy, Mechanics, Processes, Products. The ERPI team’s mission is to conduct research in the field of project management and control of innovative projects through the development of dedicated methods and tools.

Within the chair, the ERPI laboratory is responsible for supervising the research work of the project. It brings its expertise in modeling to highlight causality relationships between decisions and impacts, as well as in the implementation of demonstrators.

The industrial group ACTIBAC specializes in the management of roadside. Its mission is to ensure road safety, develop and enhance the territory under the best qualitative, social, and economic conditions. Its actions are expressed both in France and internationally through innovative solutions delivered by dedicated specialist teams.

Within the chair, the industrial group ACTIBAC, through the companies NOREMAT and ACCOPILOT, contributes to technological development for data acquisition, studies of emerging bioeconomy sectors, and experiments in the territory.

“Des Hommes et Des Arbres, les racines de demain” is a territorial project based on a unique alliance of approximately 100 public and private actors in the south of Lorraine and the Vosges du Nord.

It shares the ambition of transforming the territory over a period of 10 years through innovative actions that enhance the role of trees in the well-being of the population, environmental preservation, resilience, and the prosperity of the region, in line with societal expectations, upcoming climate changes, and a rational use of local resources. “Des Hommes et Des Arbres, les racines de demain” was labeled as a “Territory of Innovation” by the Prime Minister on September 13, 2019.

The UMR Silva brings together researchers from AgroParisTech, INRAE, and the University of Lorraine to conduct interdisciplinary research on wood, trees, and forest ecosystems. Its objectives include developing fundamental and applied research to address societal questions, particularly those of forest managers, regarding the adaptation of forest ecosystems to global changes and the services they provide, such as wood production or their contribution to climate change mitigation.

Within the chair, UMR Silva contributes its expertise in ecology to characterize the ecosystem services provided by roadside areas and improve management practices while considering these externalities.

Loria, the Lorraine Laboratory of Computer Science and its Applications, is a Joint Research Unit (UMR 7503) shared by several institutions: CNRS, the University of Lorraine, and Inria. Since its creation in 1997, Loria’s mission has been fundamental and applied research in computer science.

Within the chair, the Loria laboratory will contribute its expertise in artificial intelligence, with a particular focus on the design of recommendation systems using machine learning and data exploration approaches.
