Arrival of the Fifth and Final PhD Student of the SAGID+ Chair
Rodrigo joins the team to contribute to the development of the SAGID+ demonstrator.
Final recruitment completed with the arrival of Rodrigo, who begins a 3-year PhD on the topic: “Contribution to the Development of a Sustainable Roadside Management Demonstrator”
Here is his introduction:
“My name is Rodrigo Contreras Nuñez, an Industrial Engineer from the University of Santiago, Chile, where I developed a deep interest in research and environmental sustainability. This interest led me to pursue a Master’s degree in Engineering Sciences with a specialization in industrial engineering at the same institution. During this time, I had the opportunity to participate in various sustainability-focused projects, addressing environmental, social, economic, political, and technological dimensions. These experiences strengthened my expertise in life cycle assessment and allowed me to participate in several international conferences.
As part of my academic journey, I was awarded a scholarship to complete a research internship in France at the University of Lorraine in Nancy. There, I collaborated with the Research Team on Innovation Processes (ERPI) on integrating ecosystem services into life cycle assessment, with a particular focus on distributed plastic recycling.
This research experience reinforced my commitment to sustainable development and its practical application across various fields, inspiring me to pursue a PhD. Roadside management is a complex system that requires a multidimensional approach to sustainability. For this reason, I am thrilled to be part of this project as a doctoral student, aiming to contribute to the development of a sustainable management model that enables informed decision-making for the benefit of the environment and local communities.”
We warmly welcome him to the team.
