Gamifying roadside management 🎲

A half-day workshop involving students and staff from the Greater Nancy Metropolitan Authority, dedicated to the development of a game-based training programme.

This year, two groups of students from ENSGSI have the opportunity to put their project management and innovation skills into practice through an industrial project proposed by the company NOREMAT, in collaboration with the SAGID+ Chair.

The students’ objective is to design several educational games to support a training programme focused on the environmental challenges related to roadside management.

This Friday, the students were able to confront their first prototypes with real-world practice thanks to the participation of several staff members from the Greater Nancy Metropolitan Authority. Three games, each lasting around twenty minutes and addressing three different themes, were tested. The themes covered included alternating mowing, ditch cleaning, and biomass valorisation.

In a friendly and positive atmosphere, the agents were able to test each of the three games developed by the students. The discussions between participants and students helped identify numerous areas for improvement across the different concepts, both in terms of format and content.

Overall, the outcome was very positive, as the decision to focus on playful, game-based content was highly appreciated by the agents, who fully engaged with the games.

Given the success of the morning session, the format may well be repeated at the end of the project, using the final versions of the games.
